Mason Thompson's experience began during his 12 years of service in the US Marine Corps. During this time, he gained valuable experience training others to meet their physical fitness needs as he was often tasked with [successfully] conditioning young adults to become physically prepared for the fire service, military service, and personal fitness goals. During his service he was distinguished by being awarded the prestigious Marine of the Year-2010. He also received a fire science and an education degree and taught for more than 3 years at the Defense Department's fire academy. During his education studies he attended 2 curriculum development schools and helped develop one of the Defense Department's curriculum that is still used today. He went on to study at the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI) in Santa Monica, CA where he became certified in the following disciplines: Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES). He then went on to study with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) where he received their prestigious CPT, PES, CES training and certification as well as the Weight Loss Specialization (WLS), Fitness Nutrition Specialization (WLS), and also became a Precision Nutrition certified coach and gained valuable experience learning and using their ProCoach curriculum and technology. He has also extensively studied the specialized field of nutrition with an emphasis on sport nutrition, as well as nutrition for special populations such as women, young athletes, pregnancy, elderly, menopause, bodybuilding, and powerlifting.
Since, Mason has become a strength and conditioning coach (Jr. High, High school, college age athletes as well as worked with minor/ major league baseball players). He also founded Niction Nutrition —a company aimed at delivering a scientific based approach to weight loss and healthy nutritional habits, from which his school Niction Nutrition Fitness Academy (NNFA) was born. NNFA is where he trains and certifies students to become personal trainers and strength coaches as well as expert nutrition coaches. His academy's most notable flagship courses are the Niction Certified Strength Coach (NCSC), the Niction Functional Anatomy Course (NFAC), and the Niction Advanced Nutrition Course (NANC). Other courses and test-prep classes he teaches is the National Strength and Conditioning Association's (NSCA) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) curriculum as well as the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) curriculum. He also teaches the National Academy of Sports Medicine's (NASM) CPT, and all NASM's advanced specializations. His portfolio of clients includes personally training various types of athletes, well known celebrities, a royal family, and countless others. He has also been the chief instructor for the National Personal Training Institute in Dallas, Texas.
Some other work by Mason Thompson: He is an expert nutrition and fitness coach, advising on nutritional practices and lifestyle/ behavioral changes for clients all over the weight loss spectrum. Ranging from bariatric patients to athletes, celebrities, and everyone in between, Mason Thompson has help hundreds of clients reach their physique and nutritional goals. He is an advisor and corporate partner for the nonprofit organization Rebuilding Our Heroes (RebuildingOurHeroes.org), published the popular book This is the Skinny on Your Diet Plan 1st and 2nd edition, and is the founder and author of this very successful nutrition program the Nutrition 101 Challenge.
